Huh. Interesting. Didn’t expect spain or argenina. and I knew about Ireland because our last name was totally different but the guy Ellis Island couldn’t pronounce or spell it (it was Russian), so he changed it to what it current is (he was irish and i believe he changed it after the city his family was from or something.) it’s actually documented on our family tree (which is cool since it goes back almost 300 years of names)

Also, I ran my mom’s maiden name for the lawls and the top result is Canada. Saskatchewan, Canada to be more precise. And the fifth top city is Estevan, SK (aka, where I was born and I only know one person who lived there with that last name sooo I’m thinking that that site’s accuracy isn’t that great for rare surnames). Noooo, my mom’s side of the family didn’t make up their last name at all, whaddya talkin’ about?
